Made from: Mixture of squeezed juice of sugarcanes, dried leaves, bark, and seeds of samak (a medicinal plant) – fermenting this mixture in earthenware jars in the Ilocos Region.
Use mainly for pickling processes, salad dressings, sauces, chutneys, condiments, preservatives, seasoning, and as a marinade to tenderize meat. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep tightly closed. No need to refrigerate. Formation of sediments and a gel growth is a natural occurrence for Sukang Iloko.
